Primary Objective(s) of Position
AWWA is seeking a motivated and organized intern to support the Stakeholder Engagement team on a 6-month contract, with a strong focus on event planning and execution. The intern will play a key role in supporting the fund-raising organizing committee for a major fundraising event scheduled for September/October 2026, while also contributing to donor engagement efforts.
Impact of the Role
Donors and volunteers remain vital to AWWA’s work across more than 25 services supporting children, families, seniors, and persons with additional needs. This role offers hands-on experience in event coordination, stakeholder engagement, and storytelling to advance AWWA’s mission of enabling inclusion across the community.
This is a full-time, on-site position.
Responsibilities
1. Event Management & Execution (Primary Focus)
Support the end-to-end planning and delivery of AWWA’s major fundraising event, including timeline management, programme coordination, and on-site operations.
Liaise closely with partners, sponsors, vendors, venues, and internal teams to ensure smooth and timely event execution.
Assist in developing event collateral, preparing briefing materials, and supporting marketing and communications efforts.
Handle logistics such as registration management, guest coordination, volunteer deployment, run sheets, vendor follow-ups, and procurement needs.
Provide administrative and operational support, including documentation, minutes, budget monitoring, and post-event reporting.
2. Fundraising & Stakeholder Engagement Support (Event-Linked)
Assist in preparing content for event-related EDMs, publicity, and donor outreach materials.
Coordinate with external partners for third-party fundraising tied to campaigns or events.
Support grant application preparation, fund utilization reporting, and stewardship communications related to event outcomes.
Conduct research on fundraising trends, engagement opportunities, and event concepts to strengthen donor retention and expand AWWA’s partnership base.
The above activities are no means exhaustive and are subjected to amendment whenever is needed.
Job Requirements
Commitment to a 6-month, full-time, on-site contract with a strong focus on event support and execution.
Background or prior experience in event management, such as:
Supporting corporate, community, or school events;
Managing logistics, vendor liaison, or operations;
Experience in hospitality, production, or large-scale programme coordination;
Coursework or internships involving events, marketing, or communications.
Strong organisational and project management abilities, with attention to detail and timelines.
Ability to engage diverse stakeholders (internal and external) and tailor messages appropriately.
Basic design skills for communications collateral.
Good situational judgement, critical thinking, and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
Demonstrated passion for social impact and community inclusion.
