IT Infrastructure Specialist - #1129289

Responsbilities:

• Manage the organization’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, wireless controllers (WLC), firewalls, IPS, and core network services such as DHCP, DNS, VLAN, and routing protocols.

• Provide Level 2 and above support for IT infrastructure incidents — troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate as necessary in accordance with established procedures.

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network equipment (Switches, Firewalls, WLCs) to ensure system stability and optimal performance.

• Implement and enforce firewall rules (FortiGate) and security best practices to safeguard systems against cybersecurity threats.

• Manage Layer 2/3 switch configurations (Cisco) and ensure efficient routing and network segmentation.

• Conduct regular updates and patching of network equipment and servers to maintain performance and security.

• Monitor and optimize network performance, analyze traffic, resolve connectivity issues, and plan for capacity expansion.

• Lead and execute infrastructure projects, including new system provisioning, upgrades, and service deployments.

• Maintain up-to-date documentation of network designs, configurations, and procedures for operational and audit purposes.

• Stay current with emerging IT technologies and best practices to support continuous improvement.

• Support and uphold child safeguarding responsibilities in accordance with Cognita’s Child Protection Policy and Procedures.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or related discipline.

• At least 4 years of experience in IT infrastructure support or network administration.

• Good knowledge in the following areas:
  Microsoft Windows Server OS, VMware Virtualization
  Cisco IOS, network switches, routers, WLC, and IP telephony
  FortiGate Firewalls
  VLANs, DHCP, DNS
  Microsoft Entra Directory, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and project management skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize effectively under pressure.

• Added advantage if you possess:
  ITIL certification
  Microsoft or Cisco certifications
  Cloud computing experience (Microsoft Azure)
  Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
