Workplace Safety & Health Officer - #1129119

The WSH Officer shall lead and oversee full spectrum of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) activities including Safety management of company and projects to ensure compliance to project scope and applicable regulatory requirements, and provide recommendations for improvements on EHS activities.

The scope shall encompass the following:

Job description:

• Lead and oversee full spectrum of EHS activities including Safety management of company compound and projects.

• Lead and manage the team and appraise their performance and ensure duties are completed according to schedule.

• Provide technical expertise and strong mentorship to the team, including employee development.

• Lead, develop and implement EHS SOP & programs, and provide recommendations for improvements on work.

• Recommend solutions or improvements based on risk findings.

• Conduct hazard analysis for new projects, equipment, or processes.

• Conduct Training, Education & Briefing including Safety Toolbox meetings.

• Stay updated on safety regulations to ensure compliance to relevant regulatory guidelines and compliant to the Contract work scope.

• Investigate Accidents and Incidents, prepare & lodge Workplace Incident Reports to MOM, and implement corrective actions including representing the company for workplace safety events & incidents.

• Conduct regular safety inspections of the workplace, tools, equipment, and workspaces.

• Foster a Safety culture in the workplace to enhance employee awareness and work safety.

• Take on role as Management Representative for OHSAS programs.

• Monitor and maintain safety procedures and safety records, including inspection reports, accident logs, and employee safety training certifications and training sessions.

• Ensure all safety documentation is up to date and readily accessible for audits or inspections.

• Inspect and ensure site personnels' Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are within validity and in safe, functional condition.

• Liaise with client/main contractor/subcon on all site safety matters.

• Assist the Project Manager in all aspect of project safety and attend site meetings.

• Report Safety Data & Reports to Management.

• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years relevant hands-on experience in Engineering/Construction industry, preferably with Main-Con or M&E or other engineering services company, and minimum 5 years in a managerial capacity. 

• Must have prescribed Workplace Safety and Health related qualification and hold a valid license as workplace safety and health (WSH) Officer in Singapore under the Singapore Institution of Safety Officers.

• Must have valid BizSafe Level 2 certification.

• Must have at least a valid BCSS / Supervise Construction Work for WSH certificate or CSCPM or equivalent safety certificate.

• Must have valid Work at Height for Assessor certificate.

• Valid Occupational First Aider certificate a plus.

• Excellent knowledge of statutory requirements related to WSH Act, OHSAS and other aspect of safety.

• Knowledge in ACMV, Ducting, Process Piping, and other M&E related systems a plus.

• Good communication, leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.

• Good English communication skills and report writing skills.

• Excellent business judgement, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skill.

• High reliability and integrity in handling confidential information.

• Able to plan, organize, take initiative to meet job objectives and tight deadlines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

• Resourceful, attentive to details, responsible and responsive with positive attitude.

• Able to conduct site checks regularly every day.
