Technical Support Officer (Sports Science/ North) - 1 year contract - #1127968

The Role:

As a Sports Science Technical Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of sports science education and research. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing technical support during the preparation and delivery of classes/workshops in laboratories and classrooms

• Supporting the safe and proper use of laboratory assets

• Assisting academic staff in supervising students/participants during activities

• Ensuring materials and equipment are prepared and functional before sessions/events

• Assisting in research data collection and analysis

• Undertaking administrative responsibilities, including roles in special projects, event management, and committees

• Operating equipment and instruments, collecting data, calibrating machines, and managing inventory

• Supporting equipment loan processes and monitoring usage

• Maintaining laboratory records, including preventive maintenance plans and corrective actions

• Ensuring compliance with QEHS (Quality, Environment, Health and Safety) procedures, including emergency and accident protocols, and safe disposal of biohazardous materials

What Are We Looking For?

We are seeking a technically skilled and safety-conscious individual with a passion for sports science. The ideal candidate will have:

• A Higher Nitec in Sport Management, or a Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science / Sports Science and Wellness

• Experience or interest in laboratory operations and equipment handling

• Strong organizational and administrative skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

• A proactive attitude toward safety and quality standards
