Procurement & Operations Leader
Working Hours: 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM
Work Days: 5.5 days per week

Overview
We are looking for a committed and hands-on Procurement & Operations Leader to oversee purchasing, supplier coordination, logistics, and day-to-day operational flow in a fast-paced staff canteen environment. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, the ability to manage multiple moving parts, and a willingness to step into the kitchen to support operational needs when required.
Experience in operations and procurement ideal but not required. Most important is that you thrives in a dynamic setting, and enjoys working closely with both suppliers and kitchen teams.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Supplier Management
Source, negotiate, and manage suppliers for food ingredients, packaging materials, kitchen consumables, and operational supplies.
Monitor product quality, price competitiveness, and supplier performance.
Track inventory levels and plan purchases to avoid shortages, especially during peak catering periods.
Build strong partnerships with vendors to ensure reliability and timely delivery.
Operations & Daily Workflow Management
Oversee the daily operational schedule from early morning preparation to closing.
Coordinate between procurement, kitchen, and logistics teams to ensure smooth production and delivery.
Plan manpower allocation and ensure timely execution of catering orders.
Handle and resolve day-to-day operational issues quickly and effectively.
Kitchen & Production Support (Occasional)
Assist in basic kitchen duties when needed (e.g., packing, plating, food portioning, quality checks).
Ensure kitchen workflow adheres to hygiene, safety, and food-handling standards.
Support the kitchen team during high-volume periods, special events, or urgent orders.
Inventory, Logistics & Stock Control
Maintain proper stock levels of ingredients, packaging, disposables, and operational items.
Work closely with the delivery/logistics team to ensure timely dispatch of catering orders.
Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct periodic stock checks.
Process Improvement & Compliance
Review and improve operational processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Ensure strict compliance with food safety, SFA standards, and company SOPs.
Maintain all procurement, operational, and food-safety documentation.
Team Leadership
Lead and motivate ground staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and accountability.
Train staff on procedures related to procurement, kitchen operations, hygiene, and workflows.
Monitor performance, set KPIs, and assist in workforce planning.
Requirements
Malaysians with a recognised university degree are encouraged to apply.
No direct experience required
Physically fit and comfortable with occasional hands-on kitchen tasks.
Excellent organisational, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work long hours in a fast-paced, time-sensitive industry.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic reporting tools.
