Meranti Power Pte. Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of Energy Market Authority has a position in the Operations Department to be part of the operations team to operate two open cycle gas turbines and the associated auxiliaries and ancillary equipment of the power generation station.

We are inviting applicants for the positions of Technical Officer (Operations) who shall report to the Shift Charge Engineer (SCE)/Assistant Shift Charge Engineer (ASCE) (Operations) and be responsible for supporting him in the day-to-day operations of the power station/plants.

As a member of the operations team, you will be assigned to oversee the execution and coordination of plant related works. You will operate the plant in a safe, efficient and timely manner in accordance with established guidelines and to meet output requirements; performing troubleshooting on the plant and its associated auxiliary and ancillary equipment; evaluating and recommending plant and equipment process improvements to achieve maximum availability, reliability and efficiency.

The Technical Officer shall support the Operations team in the following:

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for proper and efficient operation of gas turbine, generator and its auxiliary systems and ancillary systems as assigned by SCE/ASCE in-charge.

• Support operation and maintenance engineers in investigation, analyse and determine the root cause of plant defects and outages.

• Prepare, maintain and control all records as required.

• Assist in the preparation, certification and review of all management systems, e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, etc annually and provide support to the auditing parties wherever necessary, including internal & external auditors, to rectify non compliances and/or to follow up on improvement items identified during audit.

• Raise service requests, carry out isolation/de-isolation works to facilitate the issuance of Permits-to-Work to maintenance departments or their subcontractors in accordance to existing regulatory requirements.

• Carry out routine plant inspections and tests during shift duty.

Requirements:

• Education in Engineering

• Minimum 2 years’ operation experience in a power plant or related industries.  Fresh graduates are welcomed to apply.

• Willing to do rotating 12-hour shift work.

• Self-driven with good working attitude and possess keen learning disposition

• Proven attendance record and works well in a team

• Work location is in Jurong Island (Transport to and from Jurong East MRT is provided)
