Roles & Responsibilities
Assistant Contract Manager will support the Contract Manager to provides functional, technical or process leadership and manages the financial aspects of construction projects: cost management, billing, etc. Asst Contract Manager also will assist the Contract Manager to reviews, negotiates, and administers contract proposals and specifications for client contracts/subcontracts; identifies, evaluates, and advises on potential project problems/risks.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assist the contract manager to develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with Company policy and procedures.
Assist to negotiate and evaluate contractual terms, subcontractor agreement, pricing change orders and final settlements with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Assist to manage the contractual aspects of all projects, making sure it is on schedule and within budget.
Support to ensuring that the Company have a constant stream of projects and maximizing the Company’s resources and capabilities.
Monitor contractual records and documentation such as correspondences, contractual changes, status reports and other documents for on-going projects. And develop costing and contracts database.
Provide guidance on contractual matters to project managers or other project staffs through training of new project managers and other employees in contracting practices and procedures and communicating contract details to all concerned parties to provide contract visibility and awareness
Support to identify areas of recurrent issues during tender preparation and develop solutions in resolving these issues and recognise variation to contract that will impact profitability of project and seek early resolution.
Assist the contract manager to prepare and develop tender write-up and consolidate documents for tender, ensuring submission is within tender deadline.
Monitor and ensure early closure of final account for the projects
Plan and monitor the award of the subcontract to avoid project program from being affected.
Maintain and contribute to the effectiveness of Integrated Management System
Perform other duties assigned by Contracts Manager and the Management.
Authority of Incumbent
Responsible for agreeing to extra work to be done on site in discussion with the Contract Manager and Project Manager
Recommend subcontractors for site work

Meets all implicit and explicit specifications and deadlines of assigned task
Designs/develops and negotiates contracts with clients and vendors that are clear, complete and reflect the needs and consistent with organization goals
Negotiation skills are such that the best value is achieved for the company and maintaining good client and vendor relationships through customer friendly interaction and timely response
Ensure compliance to all regulatory, statutory, and company established guidelines
Identifies and resolves problems such that solutions are effective and mutually acceptable
Keeps updated on latest in the field and attends all training offered for continuous improvement of skills
Researches answers when not immediately knowledgeable
Accountability is expected of this position.
