Job Description:

  • Ensure timely renewal of all vehicle/trailer VPC, road tax, and SCDF Petroleum & Flammable Material transport licenses.

  • Ensure periodic inspections for pressure vessels, vacuum trucks, air compressors, lorry cranes, hook lifts, and open-top containers.

  • Enforce strict compliance with safety regulations, conduct accident investigations, report to insurers within 24 hours, and follow up on claims.

  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments (RAs) for fleet operations.

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance of vehicles, trailers, forklifts, compressors, pumps, and other equipment.

  • Ensure servicing, inspections, and repairs are completed on schedule and within approved budgets.

  • Verify tire wear/damage before replacement approval, conduct post-maintenance quality checks, and update service records promptly.

  • Support troubleshooting and diagnosis of breakdowns, including emergency call response.

  • Coordinate with internal and external workshops, ensuring clear communication of repair scope and timely progress updates.

  • Source, evaluate, and engage contractors, vendors, and suppliers for repair and maintenance services.

  • Obtain required approvals for quotations and external workshop repairs, ensuring compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and process optimization.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding fleet status, maintenance progress, and emergency incidents.

  • Participate in regular meetings, dialogues, and feedback sessions to align business processes with company policies and staff expectations.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness across all fleet operations.


Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in heavy vehicle repair and maintenance.

  • Good problem-solving skills with strong heavy vehicle technical knowledge.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

  • Possess a valid Class 3 driving license
