Position Summary
This position is responsible for leading a team in the management of warehouse operations to achieve the operations key performance index and the required service standards. This may include managing the warehousing and inventory management system, physical distribution operations, implementing logistics technology, customer liaison and relationship, organization development and training.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Lead and manage the logistics operations to achieve the operations key performance index and the required service standards
Monitor and analyze P&L of the operations, establish business controls and provide solutions to reduce cost and increase revenue.
Defines roles and responsibilities, plans for the department’s future needs and operations; counsels employees on performance
Works collaboratively with client and departmental staff to assure operational effectiveness, adherence to polices and procedures and maximization of flow of all incoming and outgoing material.
Supervises and develops staff and otherwise carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
Ensuring information/knowledge resources can be readily accessed and easily retrieved Manages quality system and continuous process improvement within the facility
Additional responsibilities include, process development and continuous improvement and managing total productivity.
Responsible for meeting and exceeding customer metrics (cost, quality, Customer Service and Supplier Performance)
Defines requirements for operation and ensures the implementation of new strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed requirements & customer expectations.
Drive Lean Warehousing System.
Ensure safe work environment for all employees
Administers and communicates company policies
Regularly reviews performance expectations with leadership team. Providing expectations, performance planning, feedback to team members.
Responsible for the training & development and performance discussions with staff.
Maintain good working relationships with customers
Qualification Summary:
Experience:
This position requires at least 8 years of experience in logistics operations management providing overall direction, implementation, and continuous improvement in all phases of logistics solutions.
Education:
Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
Skills:
Technical Skills
Good working knowledge of the following operations areas – domestic distribution, warehouse management, inventory planning, transportation management and logistics execution systems.
This position requires highly developed computer skills, with a focus on MS Office suite products.
Proven transportation /logistics / supply chain management knowledge
Strategic thinking ability, proven implementation results
Superior customer relationship management skills
In depth knowledge of international transportation, with regional emphasis/expertise
Excellent negotiation experience with subcontractors, transporters, & vendors.
Experience with customs and regulatory issues related to logistics
A proven, experienced resource in solutions and implementations
Strong problem-solving skills

Excellent Interpersonal skills
Strong written and oral communications skills
Ability to re-prioritize workload to support urgent requests from various operations.
Work experience in the logistics field.
Working hours:
Mon to Fri: 8:30am to 6pm
