JS Careers have been engaged by a leading insurance broker in Singapore to appoint a Compliance Manager. Reporting to the APAC Head of Compliance, the role will be responsible for ensuring that the group operates in accordance with all applicable local laws, regulations, and internal policies. The role involves overseeing compliance processes, conducting risk assessments, and providing guidance to the organisation on regulatory requirements to mitigate compliance-related risks and promote a culture of integrity and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s compliance policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with Singapore's regulations and industry best practices.
Monitor changes in regulatory environment, including MAS regulations, and advise management on necessary actions.
Conduct regular compliance reviews, audits, and risk assessments to ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and internal standards.
Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance matters, including anti-money laundering (AML), anti-bribery, data protection, and other relevant regulations.
Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory authorities and handle all compliance reporting and submissions.
Investigate compliance breaches, recommend corrective actions, and ensure follow-up.
Maintain comprehensive records of compliance activities and prepare reports for senior management and regulators.
Collaborate with internal departments such as sales, operations, and legal to promote a strong compliance culture.
Conduct ongoing compliance testing and third-party risk management.
Keep abreast of industry trends and regulatory developments affecting insurance brokerage operations.
Suitable candidates will possess:
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in compliance within the insurance or financial services industry.
Knowledge of Singapore’s financial regulations, MAS guidelines, and insurance industry standards.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
Professional certifications such as CAMS, CGAP, or equivalent are preferred.
