Dulwich College (Singapore) is looking for a SENIOR AUDIO VISUAL (AV) TECHNICIAN to support the operations and maintenance of all Audio Visual systems across the College, including audio, visual, lighting, and streaming technologies used in performance and event spaces.
This role requires a strong foundational understanding of AV systems and technologies, with the flexibility to specialise in one core area of live event production (e.g., Audio), while maintaining working knowledge and operational competence across other AV disciplines.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Demonstrate broad technical competence across AV domains.
Take ownership of specific AV specialisations while supporting general AV operations.
Deputise for the AV Manager when required.
Lead inventory management, health and safety practices, helpdesk scheduling, and staff training.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the College to deliver high-quality AV support.
Evening and weekend work may be required to support College events.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
GENERAL
· Oversee the setup, operation, and routine maintenance of all AV equipment in College venues, including preventative servicing, consumables, and inventory management.
· Lead technical operations for performances and events, including setup of audio, video, and lighting systems.
· Take ownership of inventory management for AV and lighting equipment in performing arts spaces, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
· To work together in a team to liaise and deliver technical services for some external hirers during events including responsivity as crew chief for causal recruitment, training and operational supervision.
· Serve as site lead for staff training on AV equipment usage in performance and event venues.
· Act as deputy for the AV Manager when required.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
· Liaise with Students, Parents and Staff to provide consistent, efficient technical services in a courteous and friendly manner.
· Provide clear and accessible information regarding AV-related issues.
· Partner with academic and business staff to meet AV requirements across the College.
· Encourage and incorporate customer feedback to improve AV services.
TECHNICAL SERVICE
· Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues on AV equipment via remote or on-site support.
· Perform minor hardware repairs and configure control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron).
· Conduct compatibility testing and software upgrades.
· Participate in ongoing preventative maintenance programs and AV CAPEX projects.
· Troubleshoot AV equipment issues (e.g connectivity, speakers, and projectors.)
· To document problems and steps to resolve them using the college AV helpdesk system and AV documentation.
· Setting up AV equipment for school assemblies and events, as well as checking and collecting audio-visual equipment to provide support across the campus as needed.
· Support and troubleshoot AV-over-IP systems, including network switches, encoders/decoders, and multicast configurations.
ADMINISTRATION
· Document hardware issues and utilise the AV Department online service desk and documentation to maintain records of repairs.
· Maintenance of OSH requirements within the department.
· Organise the repair of equipment from external vendors.
· Collaborate with team members on creating schematics on AV technologies and/or curate training to train staff/students on how to use specific AV technologies.
COMMUNICATION
· Provide timely updates to clients regarding ongoing technical support cases.
· Share technical updates with AV colleagues via email and departmental documentation.
· Participate in departmental and cross-functional meetings as required.
· Maintain detailed online documentation of completed AV tasks.
SERVICE DELIVERY
· Deliver high-quality service to all stakeholders, including students, staff, parents, and community members.
· Maintain a professional, friendly, and helpful demeanor at all times.
· Foster open communication to achieve optimal outcomes.
· Continuously seek improvements in systems and processes for greater efficiency.

· Take ownership of AV issues, ensuring resolution and customer satisfaction, and escalate appropriately when needed.
The successful candidate will have:
· High level of attention to details and follow through to completion of tasks; and the ability to access and analyse information.
· Knowledge of Apple and Windows operating systems.
· Proficiency in operating Microsoft systems, including Windows OS, Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel), and cloud-based collaboration tools.
· High-level general computing and problem solving skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
· Ability to prioritise and work independently and have great communication skills.
· Confidence in assisting a diverse group of people including students.
· Understanding of AV networking principles and ability to work with ICT team on VLANs, IP addressing, and bandwidth requirements.
· Experience with cloud-based collaboration and streaming tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, OBS, Streamlabs).
