Main Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking an accomplished and experienced individual to join us as our Director of Spa. The Director of Spa will be responsible for growing and upholding our brand’s reputation and for the overall management, growth, and profitability of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Assisting the General Manager, the Director of Spa will develop and implement a comprehensive pre-opening plan, including establishing standard operating procedures and policies, training programs and other related operational procedures.
· Responsible for maintaining Banyan Tree’s unparalleled standard of excellence and service, the Director of Spa will ensure all guests have a memorable experience by maintaining exceptional standards of service. The incumbent will also respond to any feedback, addressing all matters promptly and with the utmost professionalism. As part of the role, the Director of Spa will also spearhead initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction.
· The Director of Spa will have operational oversight and be responsible for daily spa operations. The incumbent will maintain and improve the Spa’s operations, ensuring efficient service whilst maintaining quality and consistency.
· The Director of Spa will also be responsible for the financial management of the Spa. This includes managing the Spa’s annual budget, implementing effective cost control measures and ensuring profitability. As part of the role, the incumbent will analyze performance, and propose strategic interventions whenever needed.
· Cultivate a strong people culture by investing in the coaching and development of team members. The incumbent will take ownership of people-management matters for the department including recruiting, upskilling and mentoring team members. This includes coaching team members to ensure that all day-to-day operational matters are handled on time and that guest expectations are met.
· Ensures adherence to all regulations, licensing, health and safety requirements.
Job Requirements
· Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Hospitality Management or a related field, together with any relevant certifications in spa management where needed
· Minimum of 7 years’ experience, preferably with a proven track record in a similar capacity and in an establishment of a similar standing.
· Excellent knowledge of spa operations, spa management, treatments and other related aspects. Demonstrated sound financial management ability.
· Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
· Able to handle matters independently, and able to exercise self-motivation to complete projects.
