About the Role:
As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager and play a crucial role in overseeing and maintaining accurate inventory levels across all our warehouse locations. You’ll ensure optimal stock availability to support our production and sales operations while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory. In this role, you’ll work cross-functionally with other departments to streamline operations, improve inventory accuracy, and ensure compliance with internal controls and reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Monitoring: Track and manage inventory levels across all warehouse locations (internal and external 3rd-party) to ensure accuracy and availability.
Stock Reconciliation: Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation between physical and system records to ensure inventory accuracy.
Variance Analysis: Identify and analyze inventory variances, and collaborate with relevant departments to resolve discrepancies.
Process Optimization: Follow inventory control procedures to optimize stock turnover and minimize wastage or stockouts.
Stock Transfers: Facilitate and ensure timely transfers of stock from external warehouses to internal warehouses to meet daily operational needs.
Demand Support: Provide accurate and timely inventory data to support demand planning and forecasting processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with purchasing, production, warehouse, and sales teams to maintain an efficient flow of goods.
System Management: Maintain item master data in the system, ensuring product codes, descriptions, and units of measurement are up to date and accurate.
Reporting: Prepare inventory-related reports (e.g., aging, stock usage trends, stock valuation, accuracy rates) for management review.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and propose improvements to inventory management processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Stocktake Participation: Assist with annual and ad-hoc stocktake exercises, including coordination, verification, and reporting.
Compliance: Ensure all activities are compliant with company policies, audit requirements, and safety standards.
Requirements:
Experience in the food industry, manufacturing, or logistics with a focus on managing food-related inventories is a must.
3 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain.
Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
Proficiency in ERP or inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite).
Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
