Our client is a reputable Shipping MNC. Currently, they are seeking a well qualified Maritime candidate to join them as "Technical Manager (Tanker)".
In this role, you will be responsible for the following :
Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the technical management of the shipping fleet, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and efficiency across all vessels.
Lead and oversee all aspects of the technical management of the vessels including but not limited to ship maintenance, dry docking, repairs, crew management and cost control.
Promote safety culture focused on HSSE.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance fleets performance, reduce operational costs.
Ensure compliance with all statutory, flag state and class requirements and other relevant regulations and adoption of industry best practices.
Oversee procurement activities and manage the overall budget including services, ship spares and technical supplies while ensuring the operational reliability of the vessels are kept to a high standard.
Set up, review and monitor KPIs for the Technical and Purchasing team and the overall vessels performance of the company fleet of vessels.
Develop and maintain good relationships effective communication and collaboration with crew members, shore staff, and both internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
Manage risk associated with vessel operations and maintenance. Monitor vessel performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
Executing necessary action for close out of any deficiencies or defects.
Monitor and analyse fleet data to identify trends, address issues and implement improvement initiatives across the technical and procurement functions.
Stay updated of industry trends, technological advancement and regulatory updates.
Provide strong leadership and guidance to the technical team.
Undertake any assignment as required.
Requirements:
Possess COC Class 1 Motor with at least 5 years of shore experience in Ship Management in tanker and ideally possess some managerial /supervisory experience.
Possess sound leadership, organizational, and communication skills with a hands-on approach.
Independent, resourceful, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Analytical and highly proactive in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
