Join I.T. Generation, a trusted technology partner to educational institutions and enterprises across Asia. We are seeking a System Engineer (Messaging & Systems Administration) to support a local polytechnic in managing mission-critical messaging systems, infrastructure, and learning platforms.
This position suits a systems professional with strong systems administration expertise, hands-on PowerShell automation skills, and a background in Student Management Systems (SMS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS). You will be instrumental in ensuring seamless communication, system reliability, and service excellence for both staff and students.
What You’ll Be Doing
Administer and maintain cloud-based messaging systems including Microsoft Exchange Online, Azure AD, and Active Directory.
Oversee cloud-based messaging services, manage AD and email accounts for staff and students.
Develop and automate administrative and monitoring tasks using PowerShell scripting to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload.
Collaborate with vendors to enhance Mimecast email gateway security and optimize Exchange and O365 performance.
Manage and support Student Management Systems (SMS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS) to ensure stability, data integrity, and uptime.
Handle configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting for antivirus, antispam, content filtering, and attachment whitelisting.
Manage staff and student accounts across Admin and Exchange Online directories.
Maintain Exchange Online certificates and ensure scheduled replications with Azure AD.
Execute key administrative functions such as system monitoring, housekeeping, backups, reporting, and logging.
Administer Microsoft Hyper-V environments and support change management requests in Jira (ITSM).
Coordinate with Microsoft Support for escalated issues and ensure timely resolution.
Troubleshoot mail routing issues, particularly with Symantec SMTP (SMG) relay services.
Maintain up-to-date SOPs, technical documentation, and reporting templates.
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for messaging-related incidents.
Deliver responsive and professional service to end-users and VIP personnel.
What We’re Looking For
Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in systems administration and Microsoft infrastructure support.
Proven proficiency in Microsoft O365, Exchange Online, Azure AD, and Active Directory management.
Strong PowerShell scripting and automation capability.
Prior experience supporting or integrating Student Management Systems (SMS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Familiarity with Agile and ITIL methodologies in enterprise environments.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation abilities.
Job Details
Work Location: Local Polytechnic (Singapore)
Working Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Extended Hours: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM during exam periods
On-Call Rotation: Alternate weeks
