Role Purpose

The HSSE Professional (APAC Account) will be responsible for implementing and managing HSSE for one site of the JLL’s Work Dynamics Client accounts. The most important objective of this role will be ensuring that our clients, our employees and sub-contractors return home safely at the end of their working day. 

The role is highly visible, and the work is fast-paced. The successful candidate must ensure that critical stakeholders, such as employees and clients, receive timely, relevant information and appropriate counsel for HSSE Matters.   They must have an acute eye for HSSE risk and be able to foster as strong culture health and safety and deliver world class HSSE results, improved productivity and flawless execution.

As a member of the Work Dynamics HSSE team they will support the implementation of the JLL HSSE strategy, and the role reports directly to the APAC HSSE Lead

Day-today accountability is to the JLL Account Director with regular reporting on HSSE performance across the account to the Account Leadership team and the Client (APAC Account).

Other key stakeholders include the account leads for regional Operations leads, account country leads, Engineering, Risk & Compliance, Finance, HR, Projects and Client Corporate Real Estate Team leads.



What this job involves

Performance

  • Proactively manage and measures account performance against key HSSE metrics.

  • Proactively manages and measures account performance against key HSSE metrics.

  • Develops relationships with internal and external client key representatives in reaching HSSE compliance. 

  • Develops competence by performing structured work assignments

  • Uses existing procedures or work with team in solving complex health and safety  problems

  • Acts as account health and safety expert for health and safety instruction, guidance and advice to account team

  • Portfolio will be APAC regional covering multiple countries

  • Activities will be within IFM and related construction projects from the account


Standards

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of JLL Global HSSE operational controls, (i.e., process, standards, procedures, and guidelines) ensuring compliance with HSSE obligations and JLL’s HSE aspirations

  • Identify and align JLL HSSE practices to client HSSE standards and requirements

  • Drive the development of best practice HSE training programs and resources.

  • Implement HSE strategy and operating protocols for the safety performance of JLL’s contractors and supply chain vendors.

The Candidate

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health Science, Environmental Science or Engineering, Public Health, or other related field

- 7-10+ years of work experience as an EHS professional

- Experience managing EHS compliance programs in accordance with federal, state and local laws

- Tier II – Community Right to Know

- Hazardous waste and universal waste management

- Other regulated waste management – used oil

- Mold  remediation

- Asbestos projects

- Indoor air quality evaluations

- Incident management

- Stormwater management / permitting

- Title V Air Permitting

- Spill, prevention control and countermeasure plans

- Underground and aboveground storage tanks management

- OSHA Employee Safety programs

- Hazard Communication and chemical safety

Trainings:

- Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response – HAZWOPER 40-hr or 24-hr

- OSHA 10-hr

- Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Hazardous Waste Training

- Asbestos Awareness

Certifications (preferred):

- Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, or Professional Engineer
