SUMMARY OF THIS ROLE
As a Finance Intern, you will support the finance team in day-to-day operations, including data entry, maintaining accurate financial records, processing billing and payments, and assisting in the preparation and reconciliation of financial statements and reports. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in starting a career in Finance and Accountancy.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Financial Record Management
To assist on bookkeeping of accounting transactions in accounting software and maintaining accounting records based on information provided
Support accounts receivable/payable functions for member subscriptions, event space bookings, etc
Maintain general ledger accounts and perform monthly account reconciliations
Prepare and process journal entries for monthly general ledger activity
Performing of bank statements reconciliations and reconciliations of other accounting schedules.
Assist with GST compliance and reporting requirements
Administrative Support
Perform data entry tasks using Xero accounting software
Assist with filing, organizing, and managing financial documents
Support audit processes and research technical accounting matters
Handle other accounting-related duties as assigned
ARCHETYPES OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
Studying in the field of Accountancy and Finance or equivalent.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word)
A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently as well as in team settings.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Good attention to detail and accuracy
Strong sense of responsibility and willingness to learn.
