Who You Are:

We are looking for someone to take up the Associate Engineer position within the Facilities Chem & Gas organization.


Position Summary:

Lumileds is seeking a qualified Associate Engineer to participate in the operation of our Chem & Gas section of Facilities department.

In this role, you will handle the day-to-day operation and assist the Senior Engineer /Manager on the preventive maintenance of the Chem & Gas system.


What You Will Do:                                                                                                                

  • Perform Safe Operation of Flammable, Hazardous, Inert, Bulk Chemical & Gas systems and its distribution to Mfg Tools.

  • Arrange with contractor for the corrective/preventive maintenance on the Life Safety System and local abatement.

  • Track the consumption, manage inventory and storage of Chemicals & Gases in accordance with Govt Agencies/Regulatory requirement, to ensure supplies are available to support manufacturing activities without disruption.

  • Perform SAP, inventory portal transaction and ensure daily inventories tally with transaction records.

  • Perform chemical store inventory management to ensure inventories meet regulatory requirement such as poison, explosive precursors and flammable storage licenses.

  • Participate in yearly review with EHS officer to ensure regulatory storage licenses quantity is in line with company production forecast.

  • Assist ChemTech staff in their day-to-day operation as required.

  • Review and escalate abnormal material consumption to end users, material planner and procurement.

  • Track and managed inventories, purchase order quantity to ensure a PO quantity and delivery matches.

  • Perform monthly inventories cycle count.

  • Arrange/provide training for Chemical technicians on chemical store operation.

  • Manage waste or quarantine chemicals collection & disposition with end user, material planner, Finance and EHS.

  • Work with Chem & Gas team on chemical and/or gas system maintenance.

  • Perform gold solution reclaim with relevant parties.

  • Support Facilities department in raising shopping cart for relevant Cost Center.

  • Perform monthly and quarterly department Cost Center spent report.

  • Perform any other duties as directed by the Supervisor and/or Manager.

  • Keep Facilities Inventory Portal, Facilities Web Portal, PM portal, SDS portal updated.

  • Create, assist in updating and revising department documentation such as SOPs, SWI, Risk assessment, checklist etc.

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and in-depth problem solving.

  • Participate in company Emergency Respond Team as team member and/or First Aider.

  • Perform 12-hour shift duties (Day & Night Shift on rotational basis) to support the Chem & Gas operation.


What You Will Bring (REQUIRED Qualifications):

  • Must be able to work on 12-hour shift (Day & Night Shift on rotational basis).

  • 1 - 3 years work experience in Chem & Gas operation is preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to those with Chemical related background.

  • Fresh graduate journeyman are welcome to apply.


Education (Minimum Level)

  • Nitec, Higher Nitec or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution..

 

Field of Study

  • Engineering in Chemical, Mechanical, Electronics, Material or related fields

 

Years of Experience (Minimum)

  • 1 - 3 years
