We are seeking a Senior Piping Engineer to join our team. This role offers exciting career prospects for individuals with expertise in gas pipelines (natural gas, LPG, and hydrogen), hydrocarbon pipelines, and aviation fuel pipelines (experience in these areas is highly advantageous), as well as consultancy and engineering services.
Key Responsibilities
Independently execute Feasibility Studies, Conceptual Design, Basic Design, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), and Detailed Engineering Design for piping systems, particularly for high-pressure gas transmission pipeline projects.
Review and prepare key project documentation to ensure the complete piping engineering scope is executed according to project requirements and client expectations.
Develop terminal plot plans, piping layout drawings, and general arrangements for tank farms, pump stations, truck and vessel loading/unloading, and jetty areas.
Design pig launcher stations, metering stations, and off-take stations for gas systems.
Perform pipe stress analysis for aboveground and underground pipelines using Caesar II pipe stress software.
Calculate pipe thickness in compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, AS 2885).
Prepare scopes of work, piping design bases, and specifications for piping materials and painting for process and utility services.
Select valves, branch charts, flanges, gaskets, and bolting for piping designs.
Generate material take-offs and review EPC design and construction specifications, detailed design calculations, plot plans, and piping drawings.
Check 3D piping and equipment models to ensure alignment with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
Provide input on construction activities and witness performance tests during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
Supervise the fabrication, installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of piping and equipment.
Prepare progress reports for review and approval prior to submission to clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Mechanical or Process Engineering from a recognized university.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years (10 years for Principal level) of experience in conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering for piping in Oil & Gas and high-pressure gas transmission and distribution pipeline projects.
Experience with Singapore Power Gas projects is an advantage.
Aviation fuel hydrant system, LPG, and LNG design experience is preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS Project, AutoCAD, and Caesar II.
Experience in hot-tapping, welding works, testing & commissioning, and gas pipeline operations is an advantage.
