Financial Accountant (Payroll Accounting) (Tech MNC) - #1115444

The Opportunity:

• Adecco is partnering with a tech MNC to search for a Financial Accountant (Payroll Accounting).
• The role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a background in multinational corporations, especially those with APAC regional exposure and a strong understanding of payroll accounting.
• Role will start off as a 12 months contract assignment.

The Job:

• Manage month-end and quarter-end close activities, including P&L, balance sheet review, variance analysis, and reconciliation approvals.
• Resolve open items and issues during the close cycle by working closely with outsourced vendors (e.g., Accenture), primarily based in Kuala Lumpur.
• Review and manage work performed by BPOs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Lead and support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support finance management on ad hoc projects or analysis.
• Contribute to the design and rollout of financial systems, tools, and reporting processes.

The Talent:

• Recognized accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA).
• Strong experience in US GAAP, IFRS, and local APAC GAAPs.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in large MNCs, managing accounting across multiple countries/entities in APAC.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP preferred).
• Comfortable working with outsourced finance partners and resolving vendor-raised issues independently.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with a mindset for continuous improvement.

Preferred:

• Big 4 experience is a plus.
• Prior experience in payroll accounting, especially understanding statutory benefits across APAC, is highly preferred.
• Less focus on T&E, transformation, or automation-more on routine financial review and controls.
