Summary

The Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Executive will be responsible for conducting thorough due diligence reviews on prospective and existing financial representatives and distribution partners. This role ensures that the company complies with regulatory requirements (MAS, AML/CFT, PDPA, FA Act) and internal policies, mitigating reputational, regulatory, and financial risks associated with distribution activities.

Responsibilities


  • Perform enhanced due diligence checks on financial agents, agency leaders, and distribution partners prior to onboarding.

  • Review declarations, supporting documents, and background information provided by candidates.

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (Recruitment, Distribution, Legal, Compliance) to resolve discrepancies or red flags.

  • Escalate high-risk cases for further review and approval by senior management.

  • Conduct periodic due diligence refreshers on active agents/distribution partners.

  • Review adverse news, regulatory actions, or misconduct reports to assess continued suitability.

  • Maintain updated risk profiles and ensure timely follow-ups on outstanding issues.

  • Ensure due diligence processes comply with MAS regulations, AML/CFT requirements, and industry guidelines.

  • Assist in preparing reports and documentation for regulatory inspections or internal audits.

  • Support the design and implementation of due diligence policies, frameworks, and workflows.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related discipline.

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in due diligence, compliance, AML/CFT, or risk management (financial services or insurance industry preferred).

  • Familiarity with MAS regulations, FA Act, AML/CFT frameworks, and distribution governance requirements.

  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and due diligence screening tools (e.g., World-Check, Dow Jones, LexisNexis).

  • Effective communication and report-writing skills.

  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
