Position Overview:
We are looking for a seasoned Merchandising Manager with strong expertise in indoor and outdoor furniture sourcing, particularly from Indonesia for the U.S. market, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end merchandising process, reporting directly to the Senior Merchandising Manager. Your responsibilities will include product development, supplier management, cost optimization, and account handling. Your industry knowledge and strategic approach will be key to delivering high-quality products that meet client expectations and market trends.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Sourcing & Development
Collaborate with clients and design teams to understand product requirements and specifications.
Source and develop indoor and outdoor furniture products from Indonesia, ensuring alignment with U.S. market standards.
Lead and manage the full sourcing lifecycle from concept to delivery for assigned product categories.
Supplier Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with Indonesian suppliers and manufacturers.
Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and lead times while ensuring product quality and compliance.
Cost Optimization
Analyse and manage product costs, including raw materials, production, and logistics, to ensure competitive pricing and profitability.
Client Communication
Act as the main point of contact for clients on merchandising and sourcing matters.
Provide timely updates and ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication.
Quality Assurance
Work closely with the QA team to implement and monitor quality standards.
Coordinate with CSR teams to conduct supplier audits and ensure ethical production practices.
Production Coordination
Resolve production-related issues in collaboration with internal teams and suppliers.
Market Research & Trend Analysis
Stay informed on furniture industry trends, consumer preferences, and emerging opportunities.
Identify new product categories and sourcing partners through market research.
Team Leadership
Mentor and guide junior merchandisers to achieve team goals.
Foster a collaborative and performance-driven work environment.
Compliance & Ethical Sourcing
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and ethical sourcing standards.
Promote social and environmental responsibility throughout the supply chain.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field; advanced degree or certifications are a plus.
Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing indoor and outdoor furniture from Indonesia for the U.S. market.
At least 3 years in a managerial role within a sourcing or merchandising company.
Strong knowledge of global sourcing and supplier management.
Proficiency in spoken and written English is required. Mandarin and Bahasa Indonesia are preferred, as the role involves supporting and working closely with suppliers in Indonesia who communicate in both languages.
Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
Familiarity with product development, quality assurance, and compliance procedures.
Effective leadership and team management capabilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in merchandising tools and software.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
