About Our Client

Our client is a fast-growing international food distribution company, supplying fresh food and ingredients to Singapore’s hotels, restaurants, F&B chains, and government agencies. They are seeking a Purchasing Executive to manage procurement, suppliers, and product strategy to ensure consistent supply and profitability.

Role Overview

The Purchasing Executive is responsible for managing the company’s supply chain, including selecting the right product mix, developing suppliers, controlling costs, and managing inventory to ensure quality, competitive pricing, and consistent supply.

Key Responsibilities

• Select and procure products, developing suitable product mixes for different business needs

• Independently source new product lines and manage procurement tasks

• Build and manage supplier portfolios for each category, maintaining cost efficiency

• Develop warehousing and distribution solutions to minimize losses

• Adjust purchase and sales prices based on market conditions

• Create product promotion plans and set sales and profit targets for each category

• Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, and sales teams to ensure smooth operations

Requirements

• Fluent in English and Mandarin to liaise with Chinese speaking suppliers and stakeholders

• Minimum 1 year of procurement experience with a strong local supplier network

• Experience in catering or fresh produce; knowledge of seafood, meat, condiments, or liquor markets preferred

• Skilled in procurement processes, including negotiation, order management, and supplier development

• Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills

• Positive, proactive, and adaptable, able to work under pressure
