As a Marine Underwriter, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Analyze risks and exposures to assess risk quality, determine insurance coverage, and establish appropriate pricing and related requirements.

• Identify and develop new business opportunities.

• Ensure compliance with company guidelines in underwriting Marine business.

• Undertake additional roles and responsibilities related to the reinsurance business as assigned.

• Research reinsurance market trends and contribute to the development of business strategies.

• Oversee proper administration of Marine business transactions, including endorsements, IT system registration, and reporting.

• Provide advice on claims-related matters.

• Collaborate with other teams to achieve company objectives.

• Conduct desktop evaluations of risks and, when necessary, obtain clarifications or further information from cedants/brokers.

• Calculate exposures and set terms and conditions to maintain long-term profitability.

• Evaluate and manage the portfolio to improve results and align with the company’s risk appetite

Requirements:

• Over 5 years of experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry as a Marine Underwriter, with regional responsibilities and strong market knowledge; experience in Treaty Business is an advantage.

• Possess excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; a collaborative and approachable team player.

• Professional qualifications such as ACII/FCII (or equivalent) are advantageous; willing to travel as required.
