Job Title: APAC Consumer Insights Manager
Job Summary
As Consumer Insights Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world in the organization. You will interact with regional and country teams in Asia Pacific to address key strategic business issues through research and manage external research vendors to gather proposal and execute programs from start to finish.
This role will embed consumer insights to improve product positioning, packaging, marketing & media communication strategies and tactics, build brand love and drive business growth for organization's Consumer Business. Collaborating with cross functional teams such as business portfolio management, marketing, sales, digital & media, product development teams on new launch toolkits and building business impact cases will be key responsibility areas.
Job Responsibilities:
Be the "voice of the consumer" within the organization on assigned brands to embed insights into business decision-making and marketing actions.
Collaborate with key stakeholders on assessing business growth and issues to develop, manage and execute learning plans for assigned brands. Proactively scope and define business questions of a project up front with the business and marketing teams to ensure that the appropriate research design is identified to discover actionable insights needed to meet the project’s objective and use creative problem-solving techniques to design complex multi-faceted research studies.
Consult, advise, and influence local, regional and global brand teams on appropriate insights methodologies, usage, and interpretation.
Gather and synthesize data to draw latest trends and derive insights from primary qualitative, quantitative, and secondary sources to support business growth.
Negotiate with market research vendors to drive optimized costs, timely delivery and actionable outcome aligned to key project objectives and internal business needs.
Initiate new consumer research methodologies to utilize online, ecommerce analytics, social media and other e-tactics for faster, cost-effective and real time consumer research.
Your Skills and Expertise:
To set you up for success in this role from day one, our client is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
Minimum a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics or Engineering from an accredited institution
At least 6 years of consumer research experience as a supplier and/or a client
Good mastery of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
Strong project management skills and comfortable handling multiple projects at any one time
Resourceful self-starter and team player with good attention to detail
Ability to demonstrate or have proven track records to analyze and synthesize research and data from multiple sources to derive meaningful actionable insights to effectively influence stakeholders
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Client side research experience in Consumer Packaged Goods industry
APAC region research experience including Japan, Korea, Greater China and Taiwan
