Reporting to the Senior Manager, Workplace Safety & Health, you will be responsible, where delegated, for the Health & Safety activities and programmes of facility to achieve injury free work environment by meeting legal, statutory and company’s objectives.  In particularly for the upcoming demolition project.

Your Role:

1.      Carry out daily routine Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) activities

a.      Approve Permit-to-Work (PTW) by conducting gas free tests and endorsement of PTW for hazardous works and conduct SIC

b.      Support risk assessment reviews / point of work risk assessments (POWRA).

c.      Audits POWRA / PTW / Method statements / Risk assessments

d.      Lead or Supervise contractor’s toolbox talk and ensure all the necessary WSH messages have been communicated to all workers daily basis.

e.      Regular / interval safety walks daily to supervise higher risk activities, behavioural observations on the work group, WSH compliance checks.

f.       Conduct routine safety inspections and safety audit of work areas.

g.      Close monitoring of higher risk activities by presenting at site

h.      Closely work with contractors’ safety and project personals to ensure activities

i.       Inspect firefighting equipment, other safety equipment inspection checklists from the respective area/work owners etc.

 

2.      Conduct safety walks/inspections

a.      Involved in site inspections

 

3.      Alert relevant parties regarding H&S hazards and propose corrective measures

a.      Identify and recommend measures to rectify unsafe acts/conditions to prevent any potential incidents

 

4.      Contract management and administration

a.      Document and filling H&S related documents as SOP’s, Govt. bodies letters, WSH committee MOM’s etc.

b.      Collate and ensure records are filed and archived properly for future references

 

5.      Execute H&S promotional activities in facility

a.      Involved in H&S promotional activities such as Safety Time Out, Safety Day, preparation of banners/posters etc.

b.      Conduct a training program on the safe work procedures for works, such as working at height, confined spaces, hot work, etc. This is to form a basic safety education training to educate and further enhance safety awareness of all workers (contractors)

 

6.      Perform the H&S statistics analysis and follow up

a.    Maintain proper accident records and statistics and to conduct preliminary accident investigations

b.    Identify and collect information data such as HI forms, Contractor PA audits, Safety inspection trends. Follow up on the corrective actions proposed from the data analysis as instructed

c.    Collate and feedback to Supervisors on changes and implementation of safety rules and regulations

 

7.      Staff management

a.   Work with rescue operation with other team members when needed

b.   Raise and collate safety complaints and concerns and feedback to Senior Manager


Your Profile:

·       Minimum WSH Level B

·       Minimum 3-year post WSH experience

·       Experience in demolition project is preferred.

·       Independent

·       Self-motivated

·       Result-oriented

·       Good supervisory skills

·       Able to work as part of a team

·       Good interpersonal and communication skills

·       The offered job grade/designation will be based on candidate’s experience, competencies, and skillsets.
