JOB OVERVIEW

To act as a Senior Design Engineer for a multi-disciplined team in providing sound technical, design support on mechanical building services engineering disciplines, to ensure project requirements and clients’ specifications are fully met. Apply initiative and ownership to all key areas of responsibility.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Key Activities)

• Provide detailed design work across a broad range of projects within Civil engineering and related areas

•  Lead the technical / design input on such projects, ensuring work quality is maintained at the expected standard

•  Project management, relationship management and related business development activities with new and existing clients.

•  Provide input into the overall running of projects (particularly in the Mechanical or Electrical Services area) to ensure successful project delivery, and the ongoing development of the team’s effective project management and technical capability.

•  Produce/Review technical submissions, reports and bid documents for compliance with design intent.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and have achieved or working towards achieving Chartered/Professional Engineer/QP status via an appropriate professional institution such as CIBSE, PEB (or international equivalent).

•  At least 5 years overall experience with 3 years Data Centre design

• Enjoys working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary design teams, contributing to projects from inception to completion.

•  Demonstrable experience in the field of mechanical building services design with experience across a range of project scales and building types.

•  Take responsibility for the delivery of projects from inception to completion.

• Experience in managing small teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

•  Strong awareness of appropriate sector-specific legislation, code requirements and design guidance and future trends.

•  Proficient with drawing engineering software packages, Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD and 3D/BIM modelling software such as Revit & Rhino (for Designer).

•  Technical Knowledge not only for Power and Lighting but also with Communication, Telecommunication, Structured cabling, Security, Fire and Detection Alarm and Earthing & Lightning Protection.

• Proficient with engineering calculation software packages, Amtech and/or ETAP for power, Dialux Evo for lighting
