We’re seeking a Product Development Manager (R&D) to lead the design and commercialization of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) for hospitals, laboratory, and healthcare facilities.
Permanent Position: Product Development Manager
Working Schedules: Monday - Friday, Office Hours
Remuneration: Up to $13,000 + VB and Permanent Benefits
Key Responsibilities:
1. System & Software Requirements
Lead development of System Requirements Specifications (SRS) based on clinical, operational, and regulatory needs.
Translate system requirements into detailed Software Requirement Specifications (SRSW).
Ensure compliance with ISO 3691-4 and relevant healthcare robotics standards.
2. Functional Architecture & Design
Define and maintain the functional architecture of robotic delivery systems (control, perception, localization, navigation, HMI subsystems).
Collaborate with hardware/software/safety teams to ensure high availability, modularity, and fault tolerance.
3. Risk & Safety Management
Conduct and document risk assessments per ISO 14971 (hazard analysis, risk estimation, mitigation).
Perform FMEA and ensure risk traceability throughout lifecycle.
Develop safety concepts per ISO 3691-4 for human-populated environments.
4. Testing & Verification
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans (unit, integration, validation, field trials).
Oversee compliance testing for navigation, load handling, obstacle avoidance, and safety zones.
Ensure verification aligns with ISO 3691-4 (fault conditions, emergency stops, safety behavior).
5. Product Documentation & Release
Lead creation of Product Manuals (user guides, safety, maintenance, troubleshooting).
Maintain design and development artifacts under ISO 9001 document control.
6. Commercial & Tender Support
Partner with sales/commercial teams for technical documentation and compliance checklists.
Support tender submissions with system specifications, solution overviews, and integration details.
Join customer calls/demos to clarify system features, safety, and capabilities.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree/Master’s in Robotics, Mechatronics, or Systems Engineering (PhD a plus).
7+ years in robotics, with 3+ years in AMRs (healthcare/logistics preferred).
Strong knowledge of ISO 3691-4, functional safety, risk compliance.
Hands-on with ROS/Gazebo, MATLAB/Simulink, CAD, DOORS/Polarion/Jama.
Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
