Our client is seeking a Database Administrator (SQL, Oracle) to join their team!

What you'll be doing?

SQL Server Management - Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade SQL Server instances (2016/2019/2022) across cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability

High Availability Solutions - Configure and manage Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping, Replication, and other HA/DR solutions to ensure business continuity and data protection

Performance Optimization - Conduct comprehensive performance tuning, query optimization, and implement strategic indexing to maximize database efficiency and user experience

Automation Development - Create and maintain automated administrative tasks using T-SQL and PowerShell scripts to streamline operations and reduce manual workload

Cloud Migration - Lead database migrations to AWS RDS and EC2 environments using industry best practices and proven methodologies

Security Implementation - Implement and manage robust security measures including access control, encryption, and comprehensive auditing systems

Oracle Administration - Install, configure, and administer Oracle 19c databases in both on-premises and AWS-hosted environments with focus on reliability and performance

Data Protection - Set up and manage Oracle Data Guard, RMAN backups, and comprehensive tuning/diagnostics to ensure data integrity and availability

AWS RDS Management - Manage provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of RDS SQL Server and Oracle 19c instances while optimizing performance and costs

Who are they looking for?

Database Expertise - 5+ years of DBA experience with strong focus on Microsoft SQL Server, bringing proven expertise in enterprise database management

Oracle Experience - 2+ years of hands-on experience managing Oracle 19c databases, demonstrating versatility across multiple database platforms

Cloud Proficiency - Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server and Oracle), CloudWatch, and performance tuning in cloud environments to support modern infrastructure needs

Scripting Skills - Strong capabilities in T-SQL, PL/SQL, and PowerShell scripting to automate processes and solve complex technical challenges

Technical Knowledge - Deep understanding of HA/DR solutions, backup/restore strategies, and cloud migration approaches that ensure business continuity

Monitoring Experience - Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and automation tools that enable proactive database management and issue resolution

Professional Certifications - Microsoft Certified SQL Server DBA or Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Database Specialty, or Oracle Database 19c Administrator Certified Professional certifications are highly valued

Communication Skills - Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation abilities that enable effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Work Flexibility - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in remote or hybrid environments with flexibility to support critical issues and on-call rotations when needed

Additional Skills - Working knowledge of MySQL and PostgreSQL in cloud environments, exposure to DevOps tools, Terraform, CloudFormation, or CI/CD pipelines, and experience with multi-region/multi-AZ deployments are advantageous
