Rehab – Assistant Therapist (Junior) - #1111915

About the Role

We are seeking compassionate and motivated Junior Rehabilitation Assistant Therapists to join our growing rehabilitation team. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in animal care or veterinary support who are keen to develop their skills in veterinary rehabilitation and physiotherapy.

You will assist rehabilitation veterinarians and therapists in delivering world-class care to patients recovering from surgery, injury, or mobility issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Support senior therapists in administering rehabilitation treatments such as hydrotherapy, therapeutic exercises, laser therapy, and mobility training.

• Prepare therapy areas and equipment before and after sessions.

• Safely handle patients using low-stress and fear-free methods.

• Monitor patients during therapy sessions and report changes in condition to supervising staff.

• Assist in documenting therapy sessions, progress, and updates in patient records.

• Communicate with pet owners under supervision, providing updates and guidance for at-home care.

• Collaborate with veterinarians, nurses, and specialists to ensure smooth patient care.

Requirements

• Diploma in Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, or equivalent (preferred).

• Prior animal handling or veterinary nursing experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

• Passion for animal care and willingness to learn rehabilitation techniques.

• Flexibility to work some weekends and public holidays as part of the team roster.
