Workshop Manager - #1111028

About the role

Poh Wah Machinery & Trading Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our workshop facility in Jurong West. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for managing a team of technicians and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of maintenance and repair services for our construction machinery and equipment.

What you'll be doing

1. Supervise and coordinate the work of the workshop technicians to ensure timely and high-quality completion of maintenance and repair tasks

2. Develop and implement workshop processes and procedures to optimise productivity and quality

3. Monitor inventory levels and place orders for necessary parts and supplies

4. Liaise with customers to understand their requirements and provide updates on the status of their equipment

5. Prepare reports on workshop activities, performance metrics and improvement initiatives

6. Identify training needs and provide coaching and development opportunities for the workshop team

7. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 5 years of experience in a workshop management role, preferably in the engineering or construction equipment industry.

2. Strong technical knowledge and understanding of industrial machinery and equipment maintenance and repair

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with customers and manage a team

4. Proficient in project management, problem-solving and decision-making

5. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

6. Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
