The Associate Engineer (IT Infrastructure Administrator) is responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and performance of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This includes administering servers, storage, and networking components, ensuring business continuity through proactive maintenance, and providing frontline technical support. The role also contributes to documentation, operational process improvements, and compliance with IT security and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities :
Administer and maintain physical and virtual servers, operating systems, storage, and backup systems.
Perform system patching, updates, and upgrades to ensure security, performance, and compliance.
Manage user accounts, group policies, and system access controls (e.g., Active Directory, IAM).
Execute and verify regular data backups, test disaster recovery procedures, and support business continuity planning.
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents escalated from the helpdesk or monitoring systems.
Document system configurations, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
Monitor and report on system performance, availability, and capacity metrics.
Support IT audits, compliance checks, and remediation of vulnerabilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support application deployments and infrastructure changes.
Perform basic administration and troubleshooting of networking devices (switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs).
Carry out other duties assigned by the IT Infrastructure Lead and the IT Infrastructure Head.
Requirements :
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
2–3 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure systems administration or support.
Practical experience with:
Windows/Linux server administration
Active Directory and Group Policy
Backup, monitoring, and endpoint management tools
Networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls)
Certifications (preferred, but not mandatory):
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator Associate / MCSA
CompTIA Server+ or Network+
VMware VCTA or VCP
ITIL Foundation certification (advantageous)
