About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated EHS Specialist to develop and execute programs that significantly improve our environmental, health, and safety performance. You will be crucial in ensuring compliance, reducing site risk, and fostering a world-class safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Management & Compliance: Develop and execute EHS programs to enhance performance and lower site risk. Ensure 100% compliance with all local regulations, company standards, and future legislation. Monitor permits, licenses, and statutory requirements; maintain the site's legal register.
Incident Investigation & Risk Mitigation: Lead investigations into accidents, complete reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments (RA, JHA, JSA), and facilitate HAZOP studies. Use CORE/CPS tools to solve technically complex EHS issues.
Audits, Inspection & Monitoring: Support external audits for ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and other standards. Conduct routine EHS inspections, machine audits, and collect performance metrics. Review site layouts and technological advances pertinent to EHS.
Training & Emergency Preparedness: Provide EHS awareness training to staff at all levels. Support the training of the Emergency Response Team and conduct fire drills & table-top exercises. Prepare and maintain business continuity plans.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Certification: Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Must be a Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (RWSHO).
Experience: Degree Holder: Minimum 3 years of relevant EHS experience in a manufacturing environment. Diploma Holder: Minimum 4 years of relevant EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
Desired Skills: In-depth knowledge of local EHS legislation and familiarity with US OSHA requirements. Strong skills in hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Skills (Advantageous): Certificate in Fire Safety Manager. Confined Space Safety Assessor certification. Noise Monitoring certification.
