Overview
We're seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic Supply Chain team in Ang Mo Kio. This role offers hands-on experience in procurement and inventory management with clear pathways for career advancement.

 
Responsibilities:

Materials Planning & Optimization:

• Partner with departments to forecast material requirements, optimizing inventory levels while meeting production demands

• Contribute to inventory reduction initiatives while maintaining operational efficiency

Strategic Procurement:

• Process purchase orders with accuracy and timeliness to support production schedules

• Ensure alignment between POs, internal requirements, and supplier agreements to maintain cost effectiveness

• Build and nurture key supplier relationships to secure favorable terms and reliable delivery

Supply Chain Management:

• Proactively manage delivery timelines and coordinate adjustments to prevent production delays

• Monitor supplier performance metrics and address delivery issues before they impact operations

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of all procurement activities for audit compliance

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to streamline purchasing processes and reduce costs

• Support implementation of procurement best practices across the organization

Requirements:

• Relevant diploma in supply chain, business, or related field is an advantage

• At least 1 years' relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain (manufacturing environment preferred)

• Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis, reporting)

• Knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management

• Strong communication and negotiation abilities with internal and external stakeholders

• Organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
