Role Summary

The Project Manager will be responsible for the project developments in APAC regions including, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Indonesia, Taiwan and other countries. He will be a critical part of the Central Design & Construction team, ensuring all new data center projects are delivered on time, within budget, quality, and scope.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policies

  • Negotiate and supervise the preparation of all change orders on the project

  • Maintain all logs required to track the progress of the project

  • Maintain liaison with prime client and A/E to facilitate construction activities

  • Monitor construction activities in conjunction with the onsite Project Manager and Area Superintendent to ensure project is being built on schedule, and within budgets

  • Investigate any potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures within company guidelines, and under supervision

  • Represent company/project in meetings with client and subcontractors

  • Create Project schedule (Microsoft Project), and prepare 3 weeks lookahead schedule and monthly schedule update

  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the client

  • Develop high-quality project proposal and plan based on the business requirements and available project resources.

  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within the prescribes budget of resources.

  • Track ETA delivery of equipment and services from Telco/Data Centers, Public Cloud Providers and ICT Principles/Distributors.

  • Provide regular reports on project progress for stakeholders and management and update schedules on plans when required.

  • Serve as an escalation point for any service impacted incidents and help with ad-hoc requests to provide optimal user experience to BU.

  • Communicate with stakeholder for vendor management, maintenance of documents and to report on project progress.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Project Management field

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering consultancy or data center operation.

  • Chartered or is a Licensed Professional Engineer an advantage.

  • Solid experience in:

    • Data Center Basic Concept and Understandings Live data center modification

    • Greenfield and Brownfield site development

  • Able to deliver projects within cost, quality and time parameters.

  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities, and strategic mindset to advise and manage both internal and external partners.

  • Self-motivated. Adaptable. Good communication skills.

  • Experienced in leading multi-discipline teams to deliver projects.

  • Be disciplined manager assigning and reviewing tasks

  • Presentable and confident in client facing.

  • Able to travel occasionally (around 20% of time)

  • Experience in working in different countries / global exposure is an advantage.
