Job Summary
The Head of Compliance Officer (HCO) is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of an effective compliance program, overseeing compliance matters across the organisation. The HCO ensures that the company adheres to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, fostering an ethical and compliant corporate culture. This role involves managing a global compliance team and working closely with senior executives to align compliance initiatives with the company's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Executive Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the global compliance team, ensuring alignment with the company's overall objectives.
Global Compliance Management: Oversee compliance matters (e.g. CoC, AML/KYC, ABC/G&E, ESG/CSRD, Sanctions/STC, Insider Trading, Conflicts of Interests etc.) across all group companies, with a major focus on service centers worldwide.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations, industry standards and client contractual obligations, interpret their impact on the company, and develop compliance programs to ensure adherence.
Risk Management: Assess and mitigate the organisation's exposure to compliance risks, implement risk management strategies, and conduct internal reviews.
Policy Development and Implementation: Develop and maintain policies at global and local level through Policy Board.
Training and Education: Develop and maintain a group-wide compliance training programme and plan. Provide compliance training and education to employees to enhance awareness and understanding of compliance obligations.
Investigations: Lead and oversee investigations into potential compliance violations, working closely with legal and HR departments to take corrective actions.
Communication and Stakeholder Relations: Serve as a liaison between the organisation and external auditors, legal counsels, and industry associations.
Ethics and Culture: Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior within the organisation.
Compliance Monitoring and Controls: Establish and oversee compliance monitoring and controls processes to assess the effectiveness of the compliance program.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine the compliance program to adapt to changing regulatory landscapes and evolving business practices.
Qualifications
Education: University degree or higher, preferably in law or business
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role. Experience with data center operations preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with different stakeholders groups, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Profound knowledge of compliance obligations, quick grasp of complex issues, including the ability to initiate and implement adequate steps, solutions and actions, along organisation’s strategy.
Languages: Proficiency in English. Additional language skills are welcome.
High level of integrity, ethics, and attention to detail.
Additional Information:
The HCO will work closely with various departments, including legal, risk management, human resources, and technology, to ensure alignment on compliance initiatives.
The role involves advising Senior Management on compliance matters, participation in Board of Directors meetings, internal and external audits and execution of internal and external reporting
