As a Montessori Teacher, you will be responsible for guiding children through self-directed activities, hands-on learning, and collaborative play in a prepared Montessori environment. You will observe each child’s needs and interests, facilitate individualized learning, and foster independence, curiosity, and respect for others. This role aligns with ECDA standards and Montessori philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in accordance with the Montessori curriculum and each child’s developmental stage.
Create and maintain a stimulating, orderly, and safe Montessori classroom environment with appropriate learning materials.
Guide children in the proper use of Montessori materials, encouraging exploration and discovery.
Observe and document children’s progress, behaviours, and developmental milestones.
Encourage independence, self-discipline, and responsibility in children through daily routines and activities.
Work closely with parents to share progress updates and provide feedback on their child’s development.
Collaborate with fellow educators to ensure consistent teaching approaches and a supportive team environment.
Ensure compliance with all ECDA regulations and centre policies.
Requirements
Diploma in Montessori Teaching (AMI, MMI, or equivalent) recognised in Singapore.
Preferably also hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (DECCE-T) to meet ECDA requirements.
At least 2 years of experience working in a Montessori environment is preferred.
