Staff Engineer, Product Quality - #1108865

This role is required to support the product NPD process to ensure the product can be successful in transit to High Volume Manufacturing (HVM), identify and resolve internal and external quality issues with cross functional team and improve product reliability. As a senior position, this role is also required to provide guidance to junior staff. Occasional travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Review NPD process deliverables as a quality representative to ensure quality risks are mitigated.
Define stage and final test plans based on the product characteristics such as CTQ (critical to Quality) and CTF (critical to function) to reduce risk of failures in the field.
Identify operation process loopholes
Actively monitor and improve Quality KPI such as machine in-field feedback, cost of repair and replacement and internal scrap cost.
Manage multiple quality initiatives, ensuring QMS accuracy for new products, prototypes, and pilot machines.
Manage First Article Inspection (FAI) and monitor initial production lots before mass production.
Develop and enhance measurement systems (MSOP) for in-process inspections at part, module, and machine levels.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans using tools like 8D, 5Why, and FTA.
Work with production teams to reduce defect rates and improve cycle times.
Collaborate with Field Service teams to address customer complaints and drive quality improvements.
Utilize statistical analysis tools such as Minitab for data-driven decision-making.
Monitor and improve key quality metrics such as Total Customer Detractor Rate (TCDR), Opportunity Cost (eOPR), and Scrap Cost.
Key Requirements
Skills & Competencies
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage teams, suppliers, and customers.
Analytical mindset with problem-solving expertise in quality and system optimization.
Hands-on experience in semiconductor module and machine build processes.
Proficiency in quality tools like DFMEA, PFMEA, 8D, Six Sigma, and DMAIC.
Experience in statistical analysis using Minitab or similar tools.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Experience on PCBA design analysis or software testing are major advantages.
Education & Experience
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electronic, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum 6 years of experience in manufacturing and product development within the semiconductor industry.
Willingness to travel as required.
