In House WSHE Trainer - #1108355

The WSHE Officer (In-House trainer) is responsible for carrying out all the environmental, health and safety related training to create and maintain a safe workplace and culture.

A summary of the responsibilities of this position are, and not limited to, as follows:

• Conduct WSH training and activities professionally as per lesson plan

• Conduct & review the assessment as stated in the Assessment Plan

• Ensure training is conducted in a safe and conducive environment

• Provide administrative support in capturing the attendance, feedback etc of the learners

• Be up-to-date on the latest trends in training

• Ensure facility is always ready for trainees and well organised

• Ensure risk assessment control measures are implemented for their activities.

• Comply to the WSH Act, WSH (Workplace Safety and Health (Officers) Regulations and Environmental Public Health Act

Skills and Requirements

• Education: Minimum Specialist Diploma in Safety, Health and Environment as stipulated in the Singapore Ministry of Manpower’s accepted WSH-related qualifications.

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in the Construction industry or 2 years of teaching/training experience (in house courses is acceptable)

• Registered WSHO with Ministry of Manpower

• WAH-S/MWAH/LSSC

• Good to have (but not compulsory): Code of Ethics for WSH Trainers and Trainer certificate (ACTA/ACLP)

Value Add of Position

• In-depth knowledge of WSHE legal guidelines to advise and facilitate site activities.

• To identify new or evolving training needs to improve company’s safety performance once training operations is smooth.

Training topics:

• Hand tools training (Electric grinder, circular saw, breaker, drill)

• Scaffold erection training

• Formwork training (Q-set)

• Work at height and lifeline erection, fall from height rescue training

• Lifting training (lifting team including lifting supervisor theory and assessment)

• Traffic safety training (traffic controllers and banksmen)
