Metta Welfare Association empowers adults with intellectual disabilities (aged 18 to 55) through residential and day care services at Metta Home for the Disabled and Metta Home Day Activity Centre. Established in 2000, our programs focus on building independence through daily living skills, community engagement, and behavioral management.
Our Hougang and Woodlands DACs provide a structured and supportive environment, offering training and recreational facilities to help our beneficiaries enhance their communication, self-care, and social skills. We serve individuals with conditions such as Down Syndrome, autism, and developmental delays, enabling them to lead more fulfilling lives.
Key Responsibilities
Client Training & SupportPlan, implement, and facilitate training programmes focused on daily living, social interaction, and community engagement.
Guide clients in developing functional, behavioural, and pro-social skills.
Support behaviour management plans and implement motivational strategies.
Conduct ongoing assessments of clients’ progress and adjust training plans accordingly.
Ensure a safe, clean, and positive environment that supports client learning and well-being.
Maintain proper documentation and reports aligned with Best Practice Guidelines and organisational standards.
Work closely with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary team members to support client development.
Supervise and guide volunteers during client interactions and activities.
Participate in team discussions and contribute to service improvements.
Monitor and document significant behaviours and critical incidents.
Attend and support Metta events, outreach, and fundraising activities.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Centre Manager.
Job Requirements
Minimum Secondary/N/O-Level qualification.
Relevant certifications or training in disability care or special education is an advantage.
Prior experience in disability services, social care, or special needs education preferred.
Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Responsible, meticulous, and committed to client welfare.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with patience and empathy.
