Primary Objectives of Position
This role will focus on reporting, budget monitoring, and strategic financial analysis to support decision-making and organizational governance. The ideal candidate will be adept at Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (FRS), budget and forecast cycles, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and support the General Ledger (GL) team’s work to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency with accounting standards.
Prepare and submit monthly reports promptly, including Service Reports, Consolidated Financial Reports, and Finance Dashboards.
Conduct monthly financial analysis, including variance reporting and trend analysis, with clear narrative commentary for management review
Prepare and monitor the budgeting and forecast process, including consolidated reporting, variance tracking, and regular budget performance updates
Prepare consolidated reports related to budgeting, forecasting, and funding utilisation.
Guide and support the GL team through the annual budget and periodic forecast exercises.
Conduct in-depth analysis of financial performance and variance reports and provide recommendations to Supervisors.
Prepare financial and budgetary projections, especially for new programmes or initiatives. Track and analyse variances to ensure informed planning and resource allocation.
Lead and coordinate the year-end financial audit process, including preparation of audit schedules, liaising with external auditors, and ensuring timely resolution of audit queries.
Monitor cash flow, support investment planning, and provide recommendations on optimal use of surplus funds.
Drive financial governance by developing and maintaining robust internal controls, standard operating procedures, and compliance with policies and statutory requirements
Ensure timely and accurate bank reconciliations, resolving discrepancies as needed.
Work closely with Supervisors, Service Leads and Budget Owners by actively providing financial updates and insights to support their day-to-day operational decision-making
Respond to queries from the Board or Committees with relevant financial information and prepare materials and minutes for finance-related meetings
Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and strengthen reporting accuracy.
Work closely with auditors, regulators, legal counsel, and the corporate secretary to fulfil audit and compliance requirements.
Job Requirements:
Degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA).
Minimum 5–8 years of progressive experience in financial reporting and analysis, preferably in the non-profit, healthcare, or public service sectors.
Strong knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and experience in managing budgeting cycles and financial analysis.
Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Excel and financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or other ERPs).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Meticulous, independent, and proactive with a high degree of professional integrity.
Prior experience in governance, compliance, and board-level reporting is an advantage.
Knowledge of Charity Accounting Standards (CAS) will be a plus
