Remuneration: Up to $6,500 + Annual Variable Bonus + Allowances
Contract: 1-Year under TG payroll, convertible to client’s headcount based on performance (Long-term project)
Role Summary
We are looking for a proactive and technically strong System Engineer embarking on Day 2 operations, to support, maintain, and enhance a suite of mission-critical IT infrastructure and platforms. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in system administration, incident response, preventive maintenance, and infrastructure lifecycle management, with a focus on ensuring service availability, performance, and reliability.
Job Responsibilities
Provide on-site technical support for hardware, system, and application incidents.
Troubleshoot and resolve Level 1 and 2 issues; escalate complex cases to the Maintenance Team Lead.
Perform daily system health checks, preventive maintenance, and corrective actions.
Execute and verify system backups (daily incremental, weekly full), and support system recovery.
Administer user accounts, access controls, and perform routine system tuning.
Plan, test, and implement OS patches, firmware upgrades, and software updates in accordance with change control policies.
Support and maintain enterprise hardware, including servers, firewalls, storage, switches, UPS, and other infrastructure components.
Monitor and manage software platforms such as ArcGIS Server, IBM ACE, Kafka, MongoDB, MS SQL, WebSphere, Elastic Stack, etc.
Maintain and update technical documentation, SOPs, and reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to improve infrastructure performance, reliability, and automation.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in IT system administration or infrastructure maintenance.
Any prior experience in public sectory industry & exposure in day 2 operations will be valued-added.
Strong hands-on knowledge of Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server (2019) environments.
Experience with enterprise-grade hardware (e.g., Dell EMC, FortiGate firewalls, Cisco switches).
Familiar with backup systems such as Dell EMC Data Domain and Avamar.
Working knowledge of container platforms (e.g., OpenShift), middleware (e.g., IBM ACE, WebSphere), and databases (SQL, MongoDB).
Understanding of hybrid/cloud integration platforms and system monitoring tools.
Familiarity with ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management.
Good to Have
Experience with DevOps tools: Ansible, GitLab, SonarQube.
Knowledge of security technologies: Keycloak, CipherTrust, FortiGate, WebInspect.
Exposure to automation for system recovery and performance monitoring.
Red Hat or relevant infrastructure certifications.
Willingness to perform on-site, shift, or on-call duties when required.
Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple teams.
