Job Description:
CNC machinist who has experience operating a CNC machining as well as able to read basic G code & M Code. Strong understanding of different machining methods and the tools used.
Primary Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC equipment (i.e. – 5 Axis milling & Lathe)
Propose program edits for necessary revisions required in order to repair parts.
Run new part at infancy stages and propose required edits and sequencing of operations to include any tooling changes required.
Read, translate, and verbalize G code program, as presented. Recognize and propose the needed edits to correct both 5-Axis Milling and Lathe programs
Write simple programs in order to create fixture and tooling is a plus.
Machinist should demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot 5 Axis Milling and CNC Lathe machines, including performance of necessary actions to ensure machine is running true.
Ensure speeds, feeds, and tooling is correct for material being processed in order to maximize machine efficiency.
Able edit programs to ensure proper radius, contour, and angle measurements.
Operate any type and size of single spindle or multiple spindles on a variety of operations (drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, spot facing, countersinking, etc)
Use all tools, jigs, fixtures, and gages necessary to perform operations.
Check for proper tooling, sharpness, & alignment
Work with close tolerances and fine finishes.
Use all types of standard and special gauges, various hand tools.
Perform duties on complex prototypes or first-time builds.
Compliantly troubleshoots tools, fixtures, and equipment as necessary.
Perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third-party requirements.
Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures.
Adhere to all applicable EHS rules and regulations and employee’s EHS responsibilities.
Ensure product quality, equipment care, meet production output/pace, housekeeping and schedules.
Qualifications Required
NTC or equivalent preferred
Good mechanical aptitude.
Basic command of written and spoken English.
Familiar with the application of CAD/CAM Software (NX2007)
Knowledge in operating of CNC machines.
Good knowledge in milling tooling and machining process
Minimum 3 years experiences in CNC Milling manufacturing with 2 years experiences in 4 - 5 axis programming.
Knowledge of basic measuring instruments and methods.
Able to perform rotating shift.
Able to read drawings
