Under the general supervision of the Manager and the Director of Finance and Business Support, As a Finance Executive, you will ensure all procedures have to be aligned with the hotel’s guidelines and policies.
A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
Assist in ensuring team member performance is productive and all team member related training, standards and procedures are in place
Regularly communicate and maintain good relations with fellow colleagues
Respond as soon as possible to guests’ requests to increase guest satisfaction
Assists in co-ordinating the preparation of the departmental annual budget
Monitor and control departmental costs to maximise profitability
Producing daily revenue report and ensues all records are in place and reported in time with back up supporting.
To audit and verify all revenue transactions, record them and prepare daily and monthly sales and other reports for management according to hotel policies and procedures.
Ensuring final readings of F&B outlets are checked against all the cash, room charge and credit card balances, receipts and other monetary related figures.
Controls all F&B Sales by:
o Correct recording of guest checks on a timely basis
o Conduct surprise checks and audits to ensure guidelines are followed and practiced at all times.
o Having all voided checks, corrections and unsettled checks approved by Restaurant Supervisor or Manager
o Monitors covers controls and reconcile total outlet sales to total charges.
o Verification of all Food and Beverage discounted / complimentary checks are justified, properly recorded into POS system.
Ensures all rebates and miscellaneous charges are supported by documentation detailing the charges. All rebates must be in accordance with Finance Policy and sent to Finance Manager and/or General Manager for daily review.
Check the authenticity of all FO paid outs/rebates and outlet rebates and verify for accuracy.
Ensures that programs involving coupons, certificates and vouchers are adequately controlled and safeguards are in in place.
Audits daily collection of General Cashier Summary against bank in slip
Audits and reconciles advance payments and ensure payments have been applied
Works with General Cashier to check all float totals regularly and keep control on registers in outlets
Controls together with Credit Supervisor on daily basis PM and permanent folios.
Audit all administrative PM folios and lost interface posting charges. Analyze and transfer them to respective accounts/folios.
Train Front Office Reception staff in relation to Opera postings, accounting or system related issues, rebates procedure, etc.
Work closely with Front Office (FO) and Food & Beverage (F&B) to ensure postings are accurate and any discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner
Prepare Month End Tips Reports for all outlets
Perform month end closing and ensure that the trial balance agree with general ledger
Performs various projects as requested and assigned by management
What we need from you
A minimum qualification of Diploma in Finance & Accounting
Strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation.
Patient and responsible to solve all problems.
Able to work under great physical and mental pressure.
Motivated and committed, approaching all tasks with enthusiasm and seizing opportunities to learn new skills or knowledge in order to improve personal performance.
