Reporting to the Development Team Lead, the Test Engineer will collaborate with business analysts, technical teams, policy units, and stakeholders to define test objectives, develop test strategies, and execute comprehensive testing activities. This role is critical in ensuring a seamless and reliable user experience for mass transportation fare ticketing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal teams to develop and maintain detailed test strategies, plans, and test cases.
Identify, document, and track software defects; work closely with developers to resolve issues and validate fixes.
Conduct performance benchmarking and end-to-end testing; analyze metrics such as response times, failure rates, and transaction success rates.
Partner with front-end developers to ensure smooth integration and optimal performance of contactless fare products.
Monitor and troubleshoot integration issues, focusing on transaction reliability and performance optimization.
Perform thorough regression testing following defect resolution.
Explore and apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
Document and maintain test results, defect logs, and unit test outcomes for front-end devices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across varied environments to uphold quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with EMV Contactless Specifications. Proven experience in developing and testing EMV-compliant products.
Skilled in testing and troubleshooting contactless cards and mobile payment solutions.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and experience with protocol analyzers and custom test tools.
Experience in web programming within UNIX/Linux and Windows environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated experience in software quality assurance and defect management.
Familiarity with card clash scenarios in global mass transit systems is a plus.
