Job Overview
This role is responsible for overseeing civil and structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory and client requirements, and coordinating with consultants, contractors, and local authorities such as the Building Construction Authority (BCA), the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), and the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA).
Responsibilities
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and relevant authorities for submission, approval, and inspections.
Collaborate closely with the Project Management Team, Qualified Person (Supervision) (QP(S)), Qualified Person (Design) (QP(D)), consultants, contractors, and local authorities to ensure successful and timely project completion.
Demonstrate knowledge of local authority requirements, e.g., the Building Construction Authority (BCA), the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), and other relevant authorities.
Supervise contractors in day-to-day civil maintenance work to meet quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE), and engineering requirements for assigned projects or maintenance work.
Coordinate with Resident Engineers (RE) and Resident Technical Officers (RTO) on-site to ensure full compliance with regulatory and client requirements.
Review and ensure the accuracy and compliance of civil and structural drawings and technical specifications.
Maintain accurate and updated documentation for all civil and structural drawings and manage the Management of Change (MOC) process to document relevant changes.
Oversee the demolition of existing structures and the reconstruction of new jetty structures in accordance with approved designs and regulatory standards.
Provide technical advice and solutions to on-site construction issues and ensure proper implementation.
Ensure quality assurance and control of structural works throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering.
Preferably accredited as a Resident Engineer.
Professional Engineer (PE) accreditation is highly advantageous.
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Capability to perform under pressure, with strong leadership skills, a positive attitude, and effective teamwork.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil and structural engineering, preferably in marine or infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of structural design principles, site supervision, and construction methodologies.
Experience in jetty or marine structure projects is highly advantageous.
Knowledge of local authority requirements, e.g., the Building Construction Authority (BCA), the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), and other relevant authorities.
Familiarity with Singapore Standards (SS) and codes of practice for civil and structural works.
Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD is advantageous.
