Mechanical Technician (Maintenance) - #1101043

You will provide support directly to the Mechanical Supervisor(Maintenance) to perform the job task such as checking, repairing and servicing machinery, equipment, systems and infrastructures as part of the work force in an integrated Hazardous Chemical Waste Treatment Facility and related infrastructure.

Job Description:

• Responsible for the maintenance activities work task as direct instruction by the Mechanical Supervisor or Engineer (Maintenance) to maintain machines and equipment in the prescribed condition.

• Hands-on experience in servicing of rotating equipment like various types of pumps, chain and belt conveyors, mixers, blowers, agitators, fans and rotary valves.

• Good knowledge in Laser alignment and independently able to do.

• Perform daily preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of pump failures.

• Hands-on experience in mechanical seal assembly.

• Able to read and understand the P&ID.

• Timely close all work orders assigned by supervisor in CMMS.

• Ensure quality of work within the set time frame.

• Ensure to maintain adequate use of tools, supplies and parts to accurately repair all equipment.

• Follow job method of statement and risk assessment to perform the job task.

• Attend daily tool box meetings.

• Always follow and make sure plant safety rules and regulations.

• Participate in monthly safety committee meetings.

• Conduct routine 5S at maintenance workshop, store, substations and work area at site.

• Reporting to the mechanical supervisor on daily work activity.

• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• ITE or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is an advantage.

• At least 5 years of previous experience of working in static and rotating equipment in Chemical Process or Treatment Plant Industry.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Good working knowledge in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

• Experience in using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is an advantage.

• Willingness to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.

• Incumbents must be willing to work in Tuas South vicinity.
