Job Description
Carry out routine checks and testing of plant equipment and propose job cards in a proper manner
Monitor plant parameters and make adjustments/troubleshoot via DCS or in the site to ensure parameters are within limits, including temperature, pressure, flue gas emissions, etc
Manage boiler water condition and level, including monitoring and controlling water consumption
Perform the necessary equipment switch-over, like feed water pumps, flue gas treatment compartment, chemical dosing silo, etc
Optimize refuse incineration throughput based on operating conditions
Ensure chemicals and consumables optimization
Record and document changes in work procedures accurately and precisely according to plant ISO standards and quality management procedures
Update plant status – informing equipment failure or situation in time to immediate superior
Ensure that incidents (if any) are well-handled and properly documented with minimum disruption to operations
Enforcement of Permit-to-Work (PTW) System with good Risk Assessment System in line with identified Work Inventory. Administer PTW system and LOTO well
Assist in isolation and normalization of equipment safely based on plant P&ID drawings
Assist the Operations Engineer in management of activities for Operations with regard to Central Control Room (CCR), Weighbridge, Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant, Overhaul, reception hall, bunker management and other general plant matters
Handle and resolve all technical issues related to operations of boilers, turbo-generators, Flue gas treatment and its auxiliaries
Ensure smooth and efficient operation of turbo-generators and associated common equipment
Work with Maintenance team on carrying out Boiler and Turbo-Generators overhaul and any ad hoc work activities in SWTE
Have a safety mindset and participate actively in safety initiatives and events
Contribute to improvement and optimization projects
Liaise with contractors on matters relating to operations and solid waste management
Supervise refuse/ash crane and ash-handling operations that are carried out by contractors
Ensure contractor compliance to in-house rules and HSE protocol. Ensure adequate supervision is provided and jobs are carried out safely
Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by supervisor / plant management Contractor Management
Job Requirements
At least a Higher NITEC in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Working knowledge of the principles and mechanics of plant equipment and DCS functions is essential
At least a Class 2 Boiler Attendant Certificate is preferred but not mandatory
Preferably have attended training relating to HAZMAT/First Aid/Incident Management/Work-at-Height/Confined Space. Trainings will be planned for those who have not been trained
Strong safety mindset and can-do attitude
Meticulous with good interpersonal and communication skills
Good team-player with high initiative
An interest in process or Waste-to-Energy (WTE) Plant operations. Must be able to get accustomed to WTE environment
Committed to 12-hour shift work and willing to provide support on off/rest day when required
This is a 2 years contract position
