Roles & Responsibilities

  • Achieve the overall Positioning Objectives of the Hotel, contributing to the attainment of the Revenue goals and ultimately, the profitability obligations to our Owner, through astute management of the entire Marketing Communications function.

  • Within the context of the Business Plan, develop an appropriate Communications Plan to accomplish the afore-captioned objectives.

  • Work in consultation with the Director of Corporate Communications to develop a schedule of communications priorities for the Hotel.

  • Ensure the effective communication to, and the successful execution of the Communications Plan, by developing a schedule of mailings of Hotel updates, press releases, advisories, promotions as well as newsworthy events taking place in and around the Hotel, to the appropriate media contacts.

  • Attain the desired positioning of the Hotel in the local and international print and broadcast media from a communications perspective.

  • Work in tandem with the appointed Advertising and/or Public Relations agencies, develop a media strategy and communications plan for each of the markets that they represent, including Singapore.

  • Effectively manage these relationships as the extension of the Hotel’s Marketing Communications department, optimising the value of these relationships to benefit the Hotel.

  • Direct the Hotel’s marketing and client communications programme including public relations, media relations, copywriting, graphic design, collateral materials, direct mail and web site content.

  • Develop and maintain a current and updated database of media contacts in Singapore and key geographical markets in Europe, North America as well as Asia Pacific.

  • Schedule of invitations to the Hotel to experience and review the accommodation and spa, attend events related to the precinct and CSR activities; with a mind to create top-of-mind recall of the Hotel, locally and overseas.

  • Conduct the appropriate site inspections and hosted events. Follow through with post-visit communication to the participants.

  • Maintain and update the Corporate Identity Manual and Hotel images’ library.

  • Work with the appointed design companies to conceptualize the design and production of the Hotel’s collateral which include, but are not exclusive to, the press kits, sales kits, fact sheet, rack brochure, rate tariff, interim brochure, incentive and meetings guide, in-room digital directory of services as well as printed stationery such as letterheads and envelopes.

  • Coordinate the Hotel’s printing and vendor relationships as they relate to marketing/communications and events.

  • Supervise the Hotel’s graphic design needs including coordination with external designers and agencies.

  • Supervise the Asst. Marketing Communications Manager to deliver the stated goals and objectives.

  • Assures a working environment conducive to the development and motivation of a qualified, productive Marketing Communications team.

  • Motivate and inspire the Marketing Communications team with exemplary leadership, grooming and developing these individuals in their professional careers.

  • Monitor and supervise the day-to-day activities of the Marketing Communications team, ensuing their compliance with performance goals and quality standards set by the Hotel.

  • Strategise and implement digital media plans to build online communities and advocates on various social media platforms.

  • Collaborate with related departments to drive and support any tactical promotional activities, campaigns, initiatives, etc.

  • To undertake any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or College degree required; Major in Communication, Mass Communication or Journalism with a minimum of six years’ experience in public relations, marketing position, or professional services marketing; or equivalent combination of education and experience with five years in a managerial capacity.

  • Must possess demonstrated experience working with public relations agencies, as well as experience in managing successful Public Relation campaigns
