SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
Member of the Central Treasury team supporting the CFO, EXCO, and Investment Committee “IC” for cash management and treasury investment of the Group’s funds.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Deputy Director (CT) with monitoring the compliance and performance of investment mandates awarded to external fund managers.
Retrieve relevant information from Bloomberg, bank portal and external fund managers.
Prepare relevant Microsoft Excel tables, charts, reports and slides.
Prepare investment compliance and returns analysis reports.
Check the accuracy of the financial statements and journal entries prepared by the Financial Control & Reporting team.
Prepare financial schedules required by auditors.
Assist Deputy Director (CT) with Request for Proposals (RFP) to external fund managers and custodians.
Analyse the RFP proposals from external fund managers and custodians.
Collate responses and prepare the evaluation matrix, verifying details and clarifying where responses are unclear.
Support the evaluation and negotiation of commercial and legal documentation and prepare award documentation where relevant.
Assist Deputy Director (CT) with market surveillance and researching on information relating to the performance of asset classes and reasons for that performance.
Prepare daily morning news update and market surveillance and weekly update on portfolio performance and market summary.
Research on relevant information from Bloomberg and other sources e.g. fund managers.
Prepare relevant Microsoft Excel tables, charts, reports and slides.
Assist Deputy Director (CT) to review the credit quality of counterparty financial institutions and corporate bond issuers.
Retrieve relevant information from annual reports, credit rating agencies and Bloomberg.
Prepare relevant Microsoft Excel tables, charts, reports and slides.
Assist Deputy Director (CT) on matters relating to long-term portfolio, including subscription / redemption of unit trusts and return distribution for the long-term portfolio.
Prepare Forms in relation to subscription/redemption of the unit trust.
Prepare relevant Microsoft Excel tables for return distribution.
Input subscription/redemption and return distribution transactions into TMS and file relevant documents.
Back up other members of the Central Treasury team for treasury operations.
Input intercompany and account transfer transactions into TMS, SAP In-House Cash module and bank portals. Prepare and file relevant documents.
Monitor bank balances, and settlement of transactions with bank counterparties and subsidiaries.
On-the-job training with a view on succession planning, to take on more responsibilities and senior position in the team.
Assist Director (CT) and Deputy Director (CT) in executing new projects or initiatives to improve treasury and investment management of the Group.
Assist in drafting meeting minutes and preparing project meeting materials and liaising.
Assist in testing new IT systems and bank solutions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education Requirement(s):
Tertiary Accountancy or Finance qualifications.
Other requirements / qualities:
Good grasp of financial markets, cash management, financial and operational risk management and treasury accounting.
Demonstrated ability to work in a small collaborative team environment.
Good communication skills.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Meticulous, accurate and timely.
Have strong work ethics and workplace etiquette.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Chartered Financial Analyst qualifications, Chartered Accountant qualifications, proficiency in Treasury Management Systems and SAP ERP Systems would be advantageous.
Years of Experience Required:
At least 3 to 5 years of full-time work experience in in auditing, accounting, fund management, banking and finance or treasury operations.
